I put the word out to some of the best bloggers, and they did not disappoint. These recipes are all either gluten free and/or vegan and/or dairy free and/or clean eating. As always, be sure to verify the ingredients on their website and make any substitutions for your own nutrition protocol. We have everything from some How-To’s to appetizers to sides, mains, and desserts. I was so overwhelmed with fresh garden summer salads that I created a separate post just for them.

How To’s

Sometimes, we can all use some how-to’s when it comes to figuring out the garden harvest. Here are a few of my favorites.

You have an overload of cucumbers in your garden and decide that canning pickles is the best way to perpetuate the harvest. But which method is best - the traditional canning method? Or the new flash fridge method? I'll take you through both step-by-step and let my favorite taste-testers share which one method tastes the best.

I used to think that herbs were just seasoning. I had no idea how healthy they are for you! I've been growing my own herbs for several years, but this year I learned how to actually harvest, dry, and preserve fresh herbs. It's so easy - let me show you how!

Appetizers & Spreads

Small and mighty. These appetizers and spreads are delicious on their own, and great to pair with some of the other recipes.

My dear neighbor gave me 20 figs from her fig tree. I knew it was time to make some fig jam! It's easy to make and full of all natural ingredients. Perfect for a farm to table (or yard to table) treat!

I was never a fan of beets. I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, where pickled eggs and beets were a huge thing, and other than hogmaw, I don't think there was a food that grossed me out more. Ok, maybe liver and onions. But you get the point. So enter adulthood and healthy eating and beets were never on my radar. Until these oven baked beet chips came into my life.

Breaking up is hard to do. Sometimes you hang onto that last little bit before letting go. The store-bought pesto I’ve been eating had just enough Parmesan cheese in it to remind me that I’m “vegan” but not enough to cause major damage. Still, I knew it was time to change up one of my favorite recipes and start enjoying kale pesto instead.

Side Dishes

Some of these side dishes will stand on their own two feet, especially when you don’t want a meat entree. Many of these are easy to make and great to bring along to your favorite potluck or summer picnic.

One of my favorite dinners is Shrimp Scampi.  There is something so comforting about the sauteed shrimp on top of a big ole bowl of (gluten free) spaghetti.  It seems like everyone is on the zoodle bandwagon lately, so I thought... why not give them a try and make some Zoodle Shrimp Scampi.  Read on to see how it turned out!

You know how sometimes you see a recipe and it's way out of your comfort zone sounds a little bizarre, but you still want to try it? Like it's calling you in all of its taste weirdness. That was me. And this recipe. It's a honey thyme vegan ice cream with grilled peaches. Trust me. Just trust me.
