I have a gut feeling this is going to become controversial, but I still wanted to share with you how I’ve been using prayer and affirmations over my chakras to find healing and happiness. And give you a free printable! Read on to learn about healing your chakras with prayer and let me know your thoughts…
Healing Your Chakras with Prayer
When faced with a health crisis, I realized that traditional medicine is not the only answer. In addition to good old-fashioned drugs, I started using Eastern healing modalities like meditation, acupuncture, yoga, Ayurveda, and energy healing. As a Christian, I found these healing modalities in sync with prayer, not in conflict to it.
After much research, I realized that an answer does not exist. There are Christians who view this the same as I do, and there are Christians who feel that these modalities are against the Christian dogma. Neither view is right or wrong; I honestly believe your healing should be whatever works best for you. This is my personal experience that I’m sharing with you. Agree. Disagree. But let’s all respect each other’s differences in opinions.
Before I share how I combined the two, let’s start off with a little chakra 101.
Chakra 101
Chakras are energy centers in the body that help to regulate everything from your organs to the immune system to emotions. “The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body.” (source) Each chakra has a color and a purpose.
The 7 Chakras
The chakras begin from bottom up.
Crown Chakra – spirituality, pure bliss, wisdom
Third Eye Chakra – intuition, imagination, wisdom, decision making, inspiration
Throat Chakra – communication, self-expression, personal truth
Heart Chakra – love, joy, inner peace, connection, compassion
Solar Plexus Chakra – confidence, control, self-esteem, power
Sacral Chakra – the connection to and ability to accept others and new experiences, creativity, emotions
Root Chakra – foundation, stability, security, basic needs, grounding
The Power Combination
Throughout meditation, yoga, and acupuncture, the focus is on the energy in your body, often times scanning up and down over your body. One day during acupuncture, I started the scan over the chakras that I learned in meditation and ended up praying over my body and over the chakras and ask for God to fill my vessel with his grace, love, mercy, forgiveness, healing, and abundance.
This prayer grew into affirmations and Bible verses. Along with practicing my gratitudes, It’s now how I wake up and go to bed. I also use it any time I feel stressed, unfocused, or when I am receiving bodywork like acupuncture or massage.

True….if you mention the word prayer these days you are usually in trouble. Only God knows our hearts and yearns for us to take steps of faith toward Him. I applaud you in mentioning prayer and may you be blessed.
Hi Rita – Thank you for your kind words and blessings to you my friend! Hugs, Holly
I agree with this 100%. Many years ago I was introduced to several alternative healing modalities and I have no reason to believe that they are not helpful. I also believe 100% in the power of prayer. It’s the best of both worlds. Thank you for the printable!
