Is there anything better on a cold, winter day than to curl up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate? This hot chocolate station is rustic and festive and is sure to warm your heart and spirit during the holidays and all winter long.
Right around Thanksgiving, Stepson starts asking when I’ll put up the hot chocolate station. As in… asking me several times a day… until I do it. This year’s hot chocolate station is a little rustic, a little vintage, a little twist of peppermint, and a lot of festive.
I love these vintage-inspired peppermint lollipops – they are just for show. I picked up the vintage tablecloth on Etsy.
And of course, you can get these adorable mugs on MY ETSY STORE! How stinking cute are they?!?!?
I made these “bleached” pinecones… without bleach! I had some extra, so they are the perfect addition to this hot chocolate station. I picked up the pine branches in the woods when I was out hunting for the pinecones.
The marshmallows are actually Dandies, which are vegan, and found at Thrive Market, along with the organic candy canes and organic raw cacao powder. You can even use pre-made hot chocolate powder too.
I make my thick and creamy hot chocolate with cashew milk (my favorite du jour). I flip-flop from almond milk to flax milk to cashew milk. Wild and crazy, I know right?!? The boys enjoy their hot chocolate with organic milk, so I make mine first, and then make theirs.
And there you have it! Are you ready to curl up with your favorite book or Gratitude Journal and enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa?

Love this idea (as I drink my hot chocolate while reading this post) I love the white trees and might make a trip to Target!
Hi Patti – Just last night I was browsing through a catalog and saw the same trees for over $100! Insane! Enjoy your hot chocolate and thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Holly
I love that old truck. This reminds me of the candy shop in the original Willy Wonka movie.
Hi Terry – I found that old truck at an antique store and fell in love with it! It follows us around every season. Hugs, Holly
What a great and pretty idea for a family gathering, I love hot chocolate any time of year actually. I am as much of a hot chocolate snob as I am a coffee snob. I love to make a variety of hot chocolates. I saw a recipe today to do with a crockpot. Have to try that idea!
Hi Kathleen – I now make all of my hot chocolate from scratch with carob or cacao and the boys love it. But the more marshmallows the better LOL! Happy holidays to you! Hugs, Holly
