Top O’ the mornin to you! It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and you know what that means – a tablescape full of green and Guinness and even a pot of gold!
This tablescape comes with a funny story. It was one of those weeks where life kept interfering with my plans to get things done. Which is pretty much every week. Saturday morning, I start putting the tablescape together, and I’m on a schedule. I have things to do and everyone around me needs to get out of my way.
Hubby: “What are you doing?
Me: “I have to get this St. Patrick’s Day tablescape done today.”
Hubby: “You don’t have Guinness.”
Me: “I don’t care.”
Hubby: “You are out of your mind. You can’t have a St. Patrick’s Day tablescape without Guinness.”
Me: “I need to get it done and I don’t have time to run out and get Guinness. Trust me, no one will miss it.”
Hubby: “You have a reputation to uphold there Miss Tablescape Queen. Give me 10 minutes, I’ll be right back.”

So yes, today’s tablescape is all ready for some St. Patrick’s Day fun and revelry…. some Bailey’s Irish Creme, some Irish Whiskey, and thanks to Hubby, some Guinness. [Please drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive.]
I added a pot of gold as the centerpiece, with some green Mardi Gras beads to add some flair.
Don’t forget to wear your green and kiss someone Irish !

Yes ladies….it is true. Holly is right. I am the #besthubbyever. Holly is absolutely lucky to have me. There is no sacrifice too great for my lovely wife. The mile drive to the Supermarket was a perilous journey, but I made it. Purchasing the six-pack of Guinness may have strained our fiscal resources a bit, but she is absolutely worth it. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make her happy. I have to say the hardest part aside from carrying the Guinness back home over icy sidewalks and biting winds, was having to drink the beer later that night…….ohhhh the suffering…I still may be a bit traumatized from the experience but Holly is happy and I shall recover…somehow.

Your husband is correct – at least he has my hubby’s vote. You need Guinness to have a proper St. Patty’s Day celebration.

Holly, that dear husband is, definitely, a “keeper!!! Your table is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day and I love the addition of the Guinness. To prove this, I will share a little story. When my husband and I used to go out to a local Irish pub to hear our musician son play, I would always order Guinness and my husband would order a “lite” beer. Every time, when the runners brought our order to the table, they tried to give my husband the Guinness and to me, the lite bee. If your are the Miss Tablescape Queen, I guess I am the dark beer Queen – lol!!
