My Breast Cancer Early Detection Story
I NEVER did breast self-exams. I mean why? I was young and lived an active and healthy lifestyle. Only grandmothers get breast cancer.
My lump was 4 cm and I thought I was a rock star because I found it on my own and by complete accident. I thought that a 4 cm tumor was small. It was the size of a PING PONG BALL. THAT’S HUGE!
I was 38 and 11 months when I found the lump. I was diagnosed on my 39th birthday. (Happy flippin birthday to me).
Cancer treatment was a living hell. And just when I thought it was over, an autoimmune disease kicked in for the next 9 years that made cancer look like a picnic.
I don’t want my story to happen to you. I don’t want any other woman EVER to have to share this kind of story.
That’s why I partner with Dr. Veronique Desaulniers to help educate women just like you on The Mammacare Method® with My Breast Friend™. It’s a new method of self-exam that will help you detect abnormalities and lumps earlier. Like months and months earlier. Like Princess and the Pea earlier.
Successful Breast Self-Exam
The 3 components of a successful breast self-exam include:
- Your fingers must be taught WHAT to feel for – how to tell the difference between lumps and breast density and how to find these small lumps.
- Your fingers must be taught HOW to feel with pressure – light, medium, and deep pressure.
- Your fingers must be taught WHERE to feel – not just around the surface of your breast, but where to feel into the chest wall.
The Mammacare Method® with My Breast Friend™ helps to train you in this self-exam and early detection method. In the privacy of your home. It’s easy to learn. I know the phrase has been overused, but early detection saves lives.
According to a study in Current Oncology, “when the cancer is less than 1cm (pea-sized) and has not spread, the patient’s 15-year survival EXCEEDS 88%!”
I don’t know about you, but self-exams can be scary. But now they don’t have to be. You can do your self-exams with CONFIDENCE instead of dread and fear. It’s time to be Proactive, Protective, and PRO-YOU.
Seriously. I know there are a million other things you want to do than even think about breast cancer. The statistics are 1 in 8. I was that 1, and I don’t want it to be you.
