What is love? On February 14, 2011, I wrote this message as I was finishing up cancer treatment. It’s a love letter to all who helped me through my journey. I wanted to preserve it, and share it with the world every year on Valentine’s Day. Love is…
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
Love is an army of family, friends, and complete strangers who took time out of their day to pray, send cards, texts, emails, homemade cards, youtube videos, and care packages.
Love dropped off food, helped around the house, and kept me updated on all things not cancer-related.
Love is two little girls who I never met who gave up their portable DVD player for long days of chemo.
Love shaves the hair off a future daughter-in-law’s head.
Love is being taught fortitude my entire life to conquer challenges such as this. Love is a story of a man in a rowboat who goes and gets.
Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love is on one knee proposing 48 hours after my breast cancer diagnosis.
Love grows stronger every day despite two big scars and a bald coconut head.
Love is innocent. Love knows that watching Sponge Bob cartoons together on the couch will solve all of the problems of the world.
Love never fails.
