Sometimes at the holidays, you need to serve a treat for kids of all ages. These Strawberry Santas are just that. They even have little strawberry Santa hats! They are made to be dairy free and vegan, and are naturally gluten free. It’s a Christmas dessert and sweet treat for all! See how they are made…
I’m a strawberry-a-holic. There. Now that we got that out in the open. There are mornings I can eat an entire pint of strawberries with some homemade superfood chocolate. Ohhh… I digress. We’re talking about strawberry santas here. Back to the totes adorbs.
Ok, seriously. How stinkin adorable are these little guys? I’ve seen them on Pinterest, but they are normally filled with sugar and dairy and that’s not my cup of tea. I wanted to figure out a way to make them for all of us who want a more allergen-friendly treat that isn’t full of sugar. The substitutions I made are now more mainstream than ever, complete with all-natural sugars. Speaking of… they are still really sweet even without all of that yukky high-fructose corn syrup.
These Strawberry Santas are super easy to make, but there are a few hacks that will make your life much easier.
- Use a paper towel on the cut side of the strawberries to soak up the juice. Otherwise, you are going to have a big red juicy mess.
- Use a tiny dab of the frosting as glue for the pom pom on the hat.
- Use a piping bag or cut a small end off a plastic bag to pipe in the frosting. Scooping the frosting out of the container and spreading it on will not work. Trust me. I’ve tried.
Health Benefits of Strawberries
Strawberries are little red powerhouses of antioxidants and polyphenals. They are packed with Vitamin C, Vitamin K, folate, potassium, manganese and magnesium. They may also improve heart health, reduce the risk of strokes, help to prevent cancer, boost brain function, and more.

Once dry, pipe the vanilla frosting on top of the strawberry.
Place "hat" piece on top and press down slightly.
