Nothing says summer like putting a stick in a marshmallow and roasting it over the fire, but there are certain times when you need to make s’mores without the mess.
Last week at our Patriot’s Palooza Memorial Day party, we hosted over 70 folks for a backyard BBQ and needed a way to serve s’mores to a large quantity of people. I made them ahead of time, and individually wrapped them in aluminum foil.
I had to wrap them VERY carefully, as to not crush the graham crackers. I placed them gingerly in a basket, and carried outside to the grill.
You will want to grill them on medium-low for about 5 minutes. Be careful when you handle them, as they will be very hot.
The kids may have been a little disappointed that they didn’t get to make them over a fire, but after the first bite of that chocolate-marshmallow goodness, they quickly forgot! Adults were able to enjoy them as well. Everyone is a kid when it comes to eating s’mores! One of our guests thought that they were gourmet. I guess it was the presentation? Definitely not gourmet – just me.
Love, hugs, and wiping a little marshmallow off my chin.
