Shrimp on the Barbie is one of my favorite summer dinners. It’s quick and easy to make, and my entire family loves it. This recipe certainly isn’t new, but it’s our family favorite and is always perfection. And PS – it’s Paleo, Whole30, and Keto. Get the recipe…
I love throwing pretty much anything on the grill in the summer for my family, but shrimp is (are?) definitely the fan favorite. When Stepson asks, “What’s for dinner?” I either get the “YES” or a happy dance when it’s shrimp on the barbie.
Always be careful when handling the skewers as they will be very hot coming off the grill. I use one of those grill oven mitts and then have Hubby help remove the shrimp.
To save money, I buy a bag of frozen shrimp and then peel them myself. I pour the shrimp into a colander and then spray hot water on them until they are defrosted enough to peel.
With this marinade, you don’t want it to sit longer than 30 minutes because of the lime juice. Since it will take several minutes to thread all of the shrimp onto the skewers, I usually marinate mine for 20 minutes and then start threading.

We love shrimp and prawns in our house too. If we can’t wait we’ll just chuck them in the frypan with a little butter and honey – the sauce it makes is divine to soak up with the help of some fresh buns But I’m a sucker for cilantro and lime so that’ll have to be the next version.
Hi Lisa – I’m a pesco-baco vegan but my boys are both carnivores so shrimp and salmon are always the go-to’s for our family. Thanks so much for stopping by to share and I’ll have to try that recipe too! Hope to see you again soon. Hugs, Holly
That looks so yummy and SO simple. I don’t eat poultry or red meat, and when my family grills I sometimes run out of things to eat. GREAT idea.

I love shrimp! But I don’t think I have ever eaten it for barbecue…
And I am going to check what cilantro is because I don’t know it.

Hi Debbie – Not sure if they grow it where you live, but it’s like parsley. Have a great day! Hugs, Holly
