We moved to the Homestead a few weeks before Christmas in 2011. The nesting instinct hit instantly as we moved into our dream home and I HAD to adorn the pillars of our front porch with the Pottery Barn garland. It’s morphed a bit over the last couple years, and this is how our Christmas porch welcomes us home.
We gave the Homestead a little facelift this summer and changed the paint from beige to blue. I love the wreaths on the windows. As I retrieved everything from the attic, I realized that this would be the last year for the wreaths and the garland – up close they look a little sad and have quite a bit of wear and tear. But from far away… you will never know!
The Pottery Barn garland wraps the front, and real greens adorn the back.
I love the little vignette with the sled, greens, and rustic galvanized bucket full of logs. Funny backstory on that one.
I am in love with this wreath from Daisy Mae Belle. Not only is it gorgeous, but it’s sturdy against the screen banging against it, and the green pops so much against the red door. Absolutely exquisite!
The lights are on a dusk/dawn timer. So last year when I purchased new lights, I was not aware of the difference between warm and cool LED lights. Rather than making it obvious, I mixed them together so it looks intentional.
