This funky junk project started as a rusted oil can and ends up as a unique and beautiful ring holder. You won’t believe how easy is to make!
I was at a yard sale and saw these two rusted oil cans. I knew instantly what I wanted to do.
The only missing piece was this old vintage Mikasa plate from my Grandmother’s collection.
Hubby worked wonders on getting the oil cans cleaned up, de-rusted, and de-oiled.
All it took was a few coats of white spray paint. Soooo.. I tried to use hot glue to “draw” a heart and spray over it. But it didn’t turn out all that great. I scraped it off, and went with the outline. A little more subtle but it still works.
Rusted oil can to ring holder.
For the second oil can, I did the same thing, and then glued it onto the plate.
It’s now a holder for bangle bracelets.
I love taking old rusted pieces that are en route to the landfill and giving them some love.
If you love it, pin it!
Love, hugs, and if I only had a heart!
