I love a Pottery Barn copy! I mean, who doesn’t, right? It’s not only fun to save some money and make something just as cute as you can find at the infamous PB – but to me, it’s like a personal challenge. Today’s DIY copy is the PB Mummy Mason Jar Luminary. If I can make something like this, so can you!
Pottery Barn is selling theirs for $24.50. You can make one with items you probably already have around the house for pretty much free. I will show you how – the easy way and the harder (albeit much cooler) way. And me… yeah… well… let’s try and make it with items already in your house!
Supplies
- Mason Jar
- Gauze
- Mod Podge
- Googly Eyes
- Battery Operated Votive
- Glow in the Dark Paint (optional)
- Brushes
Directions
Using the glow in the dark paint is entirely optional. If you want to make this the easy way, use some spray glue and wrap with gauze and stick on the googly eyes. Easy peezy! If you want to get a little more adventurous, mix together Mod Podge with the glow in the dark paint. Brush one layer on the Mason Jar glass.
Wrap with gauze and add another layer of the Mod Podge-paint mix.
Cut off any longer pieces at the top, and hot glue the remaining gauze to the inside of the Mason Jar. Add the googly eyes and you are done!
I said easy and I meant it! Easy peezy mummy breezy! Pottery Barn… watch out!
I always feel like… somebody’s watching me…
Add a battery-operated votive and it will light up at night.
