I don’t know what it is about Moto style that is so appealing. Maybe it’s the edginess that contrasts my milk toast lifestyle. Maybe it’s the alter ego. Nonetheless, it never goes out of style. But the question always remains… how do I rock this fashion when I don’t actually own a motorcycle?
As a suburban mom, we don’t need to actually be a bad @$$, we just want some cool moto style to enhance our minivan drivin lifestyle. Let’s begin, shall we? Today, we’ll start with some groupings, and then create some fun outfits. But first, a few basics.
When wearing moto style, remember these basics:
- Don’t wear it head to toe.
- Pair it with softer items.
- Keep it modest.
A great moto style includes boots with studs and/or buckles….
…an awesome moto (or similar styled) jacket….
…a stylish and edgy shirt….
…and of course a great pair of jeans.
Oh yeah – don’t forget some accessories.
Look # 1 – The Classic Moto Mamma
With this look, I styled a classic moto jacket with a pretty black and white floral shirt, a light wash skinny jean, and studded boots. The light wash jeans and floral shirt tone it down when pairing the moto jacket and studded boots. This look will take you anywhere, anytime.
Look #2 – The PTA Moto Mamma
This look is to take you to PTA meetings and beyond. Black denim skinny jeans are paired with a black shirt, and a gray cotton “moto-jr” jacket. The boots are the statement piece here. You don’t need to be head to toe moto. A great pair of boots will take you miles. Don’t forget the classic leather satchel.
Look #3 – The Weekend Moto Mamma
You know me, I always save my favorite look for last. I love this casual look which will take you from a morning soccer game to brunch with the girls to a much needed pizza and movie date with the hubby. There really isn’t one piece that screams moto, but the entire look pieced together is a perfect casual moto look. I love this t-shirt with the cardigan and scarf. All of the pieces are soft and comfortable but very stylish.
Where to Find
I don’t like spending a lot of money on clothes (or pretty much anything for that matter). You can find all of these pieces at very reasonable prices at these great stores:
