Kate Spade’s gold polka dot rose bowl is $75.00. I love Kate Spade as much as the next girl, but sometimes the prices are more than I can afford to pay. After a trip to the thrift store and spending $1.91 minus a 25% military discount, I made my own copy. Here is how you can DIY the same bowl.
This is the infamous Kate Spade rosebowl. Adorable right? But not for $75.00.
While I couldn’t find a traditional fish bowl shape at the thrift store, this one came in close. It was $1.91 and with a 25% military discount, that makes it…(grabbing calculator)… $1.44. I already had the gold acrylic paint and sponge.
Two coats of sponging gold paint and it’s done. I used the same pattern with two and three polka dots. I just eyeballed it. You could obviously measure it and mark it if you want it to be more exact.
And it’s done. Seriously. I had some daisy’s left over which were a perfect fit.
I thought this vase would be perfect in the boudoir along with my jewelry and makeup.
Here is the Kate Spade version again.
Love, hugs, and $73.56 left in my wallet.
