Happy Fall Y’ALL! How did you enjoy your first day of autumn? I escaped the Pope madness in DC and took a road trip up to Pennsylvania to help Daddy Bob take care of Mamma B. Whatever preconceived notions you have about old people, retirement homes, and country living… it’s probably not even close to this. Join me for an autumn tour of pumpkins, parents, and pensioners.
I didn’t bring my camera, so all of the pictures were taken from my phone. While I am sure you will enjoy all of the scenery, I will save the best for last!
I was trying to find a good synonym for elderly or seniors that began with the letter “P” to include for a catchy title of this article. I double dog dare you to find one better than pensioners!
Anyhoo… to welcome the first fall morning, Dad and I took a walk around campus of their retirement village while Mom was still sleeping. Here are a few highlights:
Dad decided to surprise Mom.. one night she went to bed and it was summer, and the next morning she woke up to fall in their condo.
And finally, while Mom was in physical therapy, Dad and I took a trip to the pumpkin patch. Aside from spending time with my family, it was the highlight of my trip!
