Looking for an alternative to EOTS pranks? Why not have Elf on the Shelf teach gratitude this season with this adorable (and FREE) printable!
Each day, you can have your Elf ask your child what he/she is grateful for, and begin the wonderful conversation about the importance of gratitude. In the first few days, you will probably need to help and prompt, but be prepared to be amazed at how fast children pick up on this concept.
You can still prank if you want, of course. No one is stopping you. But why not add a little spin to the tradition and teach your children about gratitude in a super fun way.
We actually never purchased Elf on the Shelf. When my husband was little, his family had an elf as the tree topper. And now it’s ours! This 50+-year-old elf is smaller and creepier than the modern EOTS. He doesn’t have hands – they are glued together. And he is certainly well-loved. Stepson is now a teenager and our little EOTS still really creeps him out. It’s hilarious to watch. I have no shame.
