I couldn’t find a sign I liked for the front entrance for this holiday season. While I’m not the most creative or talented person out there, I do enjoy a fun DIY project. I wanted to make a sign that would last beyond Christmas and into the winter months. No meltdowns allowed on this DIY project!
After all of the construction at the Homestead ended, I was left with a lot of wood, and started to make my own signs. Nothing like going shopping in your back yard!
Here’s what I started with – a free piece of wood and a cute snowman. He’s not my “ideal” snowman for this sign, but he’ll do for now and if I find a better one, I’ll swap it out.
I only used one coat of spray paint on the wood to give it a little more of a rustic feel.
I used “Unkempt” font for the words and used acrylic paint and just guessed at how to paint the snowflakes.
I added the snowman and hung the new sign outside by the door.
Love, hugs and no meltdowns allowed this Christmas!
