I inherited three sets of beautiful China from my Grandmothers. Two sets of China are great, but three’s a crowd. Rather than donating or selling the third set, I decided to make some fun upcycled pieces. This tiered stand is the first.
I’ve seen a lot of DIY stands that use the kit and drill holes through the China. I’m not that brave. Glue is more my speed. In addition to the China, I picked up some candle holders at a yard sale and then used some waterproof epoxy.
It took somewhere between 6-10 coats of white spray paint. I lost count. I wanted the existing design to be completely covered.
Enter the Hoarding House of Horrors. I mean… our dining room turned craft room and eBay store. Cans of beans are great weights to use while the glue dries and also the perfect size!
The vintage design is Mikasa Prim Rose.
It’s sweet and simple and can be used for appetizers, cupcakes or even for a display at a wedding.
I didn’t have a lot of props at the time of the photo shoot…. soooo….. imagine some cheese and crackers on the bottom tray to go along with the grapes.
