This is the time of year where everyone seems to have a case of the winter blahs. Instead of dreading the cold and grey skies, here are five ideas to keep the coziness of Christmas alive during the long winter months.
Being Cozy in the Bedroom
Flannel Sheets It’s been years since I’ve slept on flannel sheets, and I knew they would be a warm and snuggly addition to the bed. The new flannel sheets are from Orvis and Lands End Home. It was worth the splurge on high end flannel sheets – they feel like butter! Layered with a warm cotton blanket from Lands End Home and the duvet – it’s a miracle I even get out of bed in the morning!
Wool Blanket Coverlet. The final layer on the bed is a Faribault wool blanket coverlet. I’ve been coveting Faribault blankets (totally in love with any USA company that has been around forever and has made wool blankets to keep our troops warm in two world wars and beyond!). Guess what folks – they are now more affordable! This blanket came from Faribault for Target.
Being Cozy in the Living Room
Chair Vignette. Add some winter flair to your favorite chair with a snowflake pillow from Grandin Road and a hand-knit cable-knit blanket. Use a few drops or diffuse some Balsam Fir Essential Oil to keep the scent of Christmas alive, while giving your home an uplifting environment. [for more information on Essential Oils, click HERE.]
Fireplace Vignette. The fireplace area received a total transformation. It’s now one of the favorite places in the house to snuggle up, read a book, and drink a cup of hot cocoa. Ask my Dad how many hours he has logged in this chair with his Kindle!
How Do You Cozy?
Instagram. What better way to show the world that you are keeping the cozy during the winter than a few #fromwhereistand pix on Instagram in front of the fireplace?
