Hello, I’m Holly and I am a backslidden cleanaholic trying to put some order and tranquility back into my cluttered life! When I was single, I used to be that person who had to have everything in its place.  To a fault.  Friends would come over and slightly move something just to see how long it would take me to notice and move it back.  I was that um… eh… er…. let’s just call it organized, ok?  This blog post is brought to you by the letters O, C, and D.

Hello, I'm Holly and I am a backslidden cleanaholic trying to put some order and tranquility back into my cluttered life! When I was single, I used to be that person who had to have everything in its place. To a fault. Friends would come over and slightly move something just to see how long it would take me to notice and move it back. I was that um... eh... er.... let's just call it organized, ok? And then I got sick.  And married.  And inherited a stepson.  And moved.  Twice.  All in two years time.  Life got extremely complicated and messy very quickly, and then stayed that way for three years. In those three years after the “dust settled,” I also started my blog, started my business, manage three rental properties, we completed several major renovations in our primary home, and I work a full time J.O.B. outside of the home.  Throw in normal life on top of everything, and my organized life as I used to know it was only a distant and blissful memory.

Despite keeping a clean and relatively “neat” home, I would walk in the door and feel overwhelmed.  Clutter stared me down, taunting me.  I would take a weekend to organize a space, bask in its glory, only to have it backfire a few days later. Everything came to a head the summer of 2014, when we switched Hubby’s office with Stepson’s junior man cave.  All of the contents of both rooms were strewn about the house.  I knew it was time to make some major changes in my life, my home, and my organization. This journey back to a truly organized life is an ongoing process.

In life, there will be successes and failures.  Take a deep breath, take a step, and keep it simple. There are many organizational strategies that you can implement, step-by-step methods of finding that organizational Zen, and quick and easy tips to make it all happen for you.

I don’t have all of the answers, but my hope is that you can take one key item away with each post here at Pink Fortitude, implement in your own home and your own life, and find that tranquility that you so richly deserve.
