Hubby and I had the honor of attending the George Washington’s Birthday Ball and Gala this weekend at the Mount Vernon Estate. Today you are getting a two-fer as I will be sharing both the tablescape and the style of the night.
The big debate was which one to share with you first….. hummm…. how about the guest of honor… General Washington. He was also there in person. Well… you know what I mean. This annual event is a tradition and fundraiser for the Mount Vernon Estate.
When we sat down at the table, I pulled out my camera to take pictures. Hubby rolled his eyes in embarrassment as he is used to me doing this at home, but not so much in public. Oh well! Such is the life of being married to a blogger, right? We had such a lovely evening meeting wonderful people!
I don’t know which I was coveting more – the beautiful stemware, or the gorgeous linens. Regardless, it got me thinking that I really need to step up the linens for the fundraiser I host every year. It’s too late for this year, but definitely for next year!
Here is one last look at the tablescape before we get into the fashion of the night.
And last but not least, the fashion of the night. Doesn’t Hubby look a little like Humphrey Bogart?
It was a fun night, and a fun belated Valentine’s Day celebration.
Love, hugs, and birthday cheers to our #1 Prez.
