Is there anything more miserable than getting a cold or having your sinuses act up? That feeling that your head is about three times its size and pounding? Pour a hot bath, and add these bath salts. They only take a few minutes to mix up, and are specifically designed to help ease your symptoms.
There is something so completely healing about the combination of Epsom salts, baking soda, eucalyptus and peppermint. It’s a tried and true healing combination that has been around for years. And for good reason – it works!
Ingredients
Baking Soda
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Peppermint Essential Oil
How much of everything should you use? It depends on the size of your container. First of all, when using essential oils, ALWAYS use a glass container. Start with the Epsom salts and fill your container approximately 3/4. Then add the baking soda until almost to the top. The “rule of thumb” is to add 1-2 drops of essential oils per ounce. Mix it all up and you are ready to go!
Eucalyptus is the gold standard for helping to ease cold and sinus symptoms. It works as an expectorant to help cleanse your body of the microorganisms that can make you feel sick.
Peppermint oil helps to unclog your sinuses and relax the muscles in your nasal passages to provide relief for colds, sinuses, and allergies.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO₃. It’s all natural and non-toxic. Listen to your Grandmother on this one. Everything she taught you about this miracle substance is true!
Epsom salt has high amounts of magnesium and helps to flush out toxins from your body. Epsom salt baths are not only good to ease your cold and sinus symptoms, but also to ease sore muscles and provide calming stress relief.
