I’ve been picking up some funky junk to transform and upcycle and it was time to graduate to the gold standard of chalk paint – Annie Sloan. But first, I wanted to practice on this old basket. Am I ready for my big girl painting pants? Read on to find out!
I figured it would be easy to start out with Old White, so I ordered from The Purple Painted Lady and my package came right away in the happiest box ever!
Although I ordered clear wax, I ended up not using it for this project. But the next one is right around the corner! So this is the old basket I wanted to paint.
In no particular style or technique, I painted three layers. I didn’t worry about complete coverage in all of the nooks and crannies. I figured it would add to the look.
I gave it a little sanding, but it didn’t need much.
I was a little nervous at first… but hey… it’s just paint, right?
Now that I have my first project over with (PHEW!)… I’m ready to rock and roll. Watch out world… I have a paint brush and I’m not afraid to use it!
