THE FUN + PERSONAL STUFF
Jesus Girl. Strong faith, but not in your face.
I’m married to Carter, a retired Green Beret, and have a teenage Stepson.
I love listening to the Beatles, 80’s music, and 40’s jazz.
My friends describe me as loyal, genuine, and quirky. Those closest to me would also say I’m super introverted, which I guess is why I am writing all of the time!
I used to be a competitive Xterra and mountain bike racer.
Most weekends you will find me in the garden or at a yard sale.
My secret indulgence is a gluten-free & vegan pizza while watching Real Housewives or Law & Order SVU.
MY HEALTH JOURNEY
The 8 Words That Changed My Life
We had already been shopping for rings when I noticed a small lump on my right breast one summer morning. Neither was a surprise, but in 48 hours time, those 8 words, “you have breast cancer,” and “will you marry me?” changed my life forever.
EXHAUSTED? HOW I CONQUERED THE FATIGUE
Can I have some solidarity with anyone else being exhausted and tired all of the time? We all have our stories. Mine is different than yours. My hope is that by sharing my experience (bearing my soul!), it will help you reflect on your situation and to achieve your goals and become a healthier you. This is my story of how I conquered the fatigue.
WHEN HEALTHY ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH
Being a breast cancer advocate became my calling. Soon after my diagnosis in 2010, I knew that this was God’s blessing for my life. Never in a million years did I think my advocacy would go so far beyond breast cancer and autoimmunity and reach so many people. Whether you have been a follower here for a while, or are visiting for the first time, I want to put it ALL out there and share my story, because sometimes, healthy isn’t good enough. I know there is someone who will read this and know this message is meant for you. I want you to know that you are not alone.
WHAT A PARASITE CLEANSE IS REALLY LIKE
Gather around kids, I’m getting real and raw and totally gross today because we’re going to discuss what a parasite cleanse is REALLY like. I’m going to share my own journey in graphic detail (no photos though so don’t worry!) and help you to get emotionally prepared about what to expect if you are in the middle of a parasite cleanse or are thinking about starting one. The side effects and die-off are not for the faint of heart. But if you have any kind of chronic illness, ridding your body of parasites is going to be one of the key tenants of healing. Are you ready?
