Whether you are a busy mom, have a chronic illness, or don’t have a lot of time in the morning, it’s easy to neglect your beauty routine. Along with your smile, a naturally glowing face doesn’t have to take a lot of time. Here’s the easiest 5 minute beauty routine to start your day and you too can be flawless in five!
I’m a girlie girl. There. I said it.
When I used to race mountain bikes, I wore a ribbon in my ponytail that matched my uniform. And tinted lip balm. While covered in sweat and mud. Yup. That was me.
Despite the fact that my wardrobe staples are jeans and t-shirts or even sweats if I’m not going anywhere, I was always into skin care and makeup. And if I’m going out… oh yeah bring it on!
Nowadays, I’m more of a homebody. I’m older, we’re almost empty-nesters, I work from home, not to mention latent chronic fatigue issues. As much as I could easily wear my PJs, messy hair, and no makeup all day and not care, I still do. Or at least I try to!
This 5-minute beauty routine is my gold standard whether I’m running to the supermarket, off to a business event, on a Zoom call, or with nothing planned at all.
Let’s get started!

The Easiest 5 Minute Beauty Routine
Simple Skin Care
Begin with a simple skin care regimen. Beautiful, glowing skin will build the foundation for your face. After you wash your face with a creamy, foaming cleanser, apply a quality eye cream and lightweight moisturizer. Depending on your age and skin condition, you may also want to first apply a toner and serum.
Conceal
Whether you use foundation or not, concealer is your best friend over the age of 30. Apply lightly under your eyes and anywhere your face needs a little refresh. If you use foundation, now is the time to apply.
Frame Your Face
Brows. Brows. Brows.
You may or may not be a makeup girl. And that’s totally cool. But your brows frame your face, and you will want to ensure they are properly defined. Hey, if you are blessed with brows circa Brooke Shields, then you can skip this step. Everyone else – define your brows.

Makeup
Makeup is entirely optional. You might be an all-natural girl. You may love to glam it up. This is your time for a lengthening or volumizing mascara at a bare minimum. Eye shadow, eyeliner, and blush are always a nice touch but not necessary, depending on your vibe.
Lips
Every day during chemo, I always wore lipstick. Always. In fact, I love a signature red lip. One of my favorite looks is a 40’s style with neutral eyes and a red lip. But that’s me. Lipstick is the quintessential pick-me-up. Add some color or even a splash of gloss. Even if it’s just to chase the kids around. Oh and PS – lipstick is essential for Zoom calls!
That’s it! You are flawless in five minutes and you are ready to take on all of the challenges of the day!
My All-Natural Look
And in case you are wondering… I’ve included two random selfies. These were not planned photos. They were not from a photoshoot. They were not even intentional. Just to prove that you can create this everyday look in five minutes!
