Happy 4th of July! Today’s tablescape is this year’s version of the stars and stripes to celebrate our nation’s independence.
First is a picture of the entire table. The tablecloth is vintage from Etsy. The melamine patriotic pinwheel plates I found on clearance a few years ago at West Elm.
I layered the place setting with a red charger that has a little bling (you can never have enough bling!!!), a simple white plate, and my favorite Kate Spade-esque blue polka dot plates from One Kings Lane. The napkin rings were my trash to treasure DIY from last week.
Every good tablescape has an equally good back story. I know that you probably think my family sits down to a beautiful tablescape for dinner every night…. and that could not be further from the truth. My tablescapes are planned and staged at least a month ahead of time, and I try and set 2-4 tables at a time for the photo shoots. Logistically, it’s easier and it saves time to be streamlined. Today’s table was supposed to be in a grouping of four I was going to set in the same afternoon. First was the Colonial Americana Table, then this one, and then two others. As I was setting this table, the dark clouds started to roll in. Fast. I know the skies would open up at any moment and I wanted to complete the photo shoot before they did. I was so rushed… I forgot to set the silverware! Did anyone even notice????
The skies got darker and darker, I rushed to take the pictures, and gather everything up to bring back inside. Last of course was the tablecloth. As I am pulling it off the table… the dark clouds part and the sun comes out. Sigh… by this time, everything was inside and I wasn’t going to drag it all back out to stage two more tables. #TheStruggleIsReal
I love a good theme beverage, and The Great American Wine Company had wines with labels in red, white, and blue to compliment the Patriotic table perfectly. AND… these wines support our troops by donating to the USO. What’s not to love?!?!
**Please drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive. **
Oh and I almost forgot… how adorable are these little Adirondack chairs?
I will leave you with one last picture that is perfect to pin to your tablescape or patriotic board.
Love, hugs, and Happy Independence Day!
